Leave Approved! As soon as I heard the news about an awesome event invite, I decided to file a leave of absence from the office just to witness the Cavinturismo Extreme 4x4 Challenge! The said event started from January 27 to 29, 2023 at Cavinti, Laguna. I am a fan of adventure, but this time is different. I have to watch how the 4x4 competes in different challenges/stages live and real time.

How did we go there? Our friend Herald, who is from Laguna, invited us to go over to Cavinti to watch the 1st ever Cavinturismo Extreme 4x4 Challenge. Azrael, our team leader instructed us to be there at JAC Liner Buendia, Makati Bus station for the 3:00 morning trip so we could travel as a group going to the venue.

My wife and I arrived at the meeting place around 2:45 AM and soon onboarded the bus. As expected, the bus leave the terminal at exactly 3AM. Since there is no traffic at that time, we safely arrived in Sta. Cruz at around 4:30 AM. We just grab some morning snacks/food/ coffee to fill our empty stomachs at the Tagpuan (just across the bus station) while waiting for our ride to arrive.

In just a few minutes, Herald arrived at the meeting place and he personally drives us from Sta. Cruz to Cavinti and dropped at a gymnasium \ basketball court near the municipal hall of Cavinti, Laguna, where all the 4x4 cars/trucks are parked. So, we can have the opportunity to have a closer look + selfies with the 4x4 vehicles moments before the flag-off begins.

Around 7:30 in the morning, we were advised to head on to the area of Cavinti Municipal Hall. To get ready for Cavinturismo Extreme 4x4 Challenge FlagOff.

Here's the map for the competition and location of the special stages. Also, these are locations are top destinations for visitors/tourists who would like to visit Cavinti just like the famous *Cavinti Falls. But not only that, With Cavinturismo's 4x4 challenge, they are also introducing the other destinations to visit in Cavinti aside from the famous "Falls" (*formerly Pagsanjan Falls).

The first location was in Pueblo El Salvador Nature's Park and Picnic Grove.Others are in Las Caidas, Paowin, and Caliraya Ecoville Resort

Cavinti's weather is not those days were so sunny. There is some rain drizzle or downpour, so the land area is a wet, muddy and slippery. The first stage challenge was hard for the competitors. You need to exert effort and mastery of driving skills need to get points. . There are 2 people in the inside the vehicle (the driver and the co-driver). You'll notice from the video the importance of communication, timing, and coordination between the driver and co-driver to successfully pass on the track. Once off-track and hit something you will get a negative point (deductible from the total points you will during the entire competition).

We were not able to watching all the participating vehicles on this stage as we have some participants did had a hard time completing each stages resulting to the event schedules to push back. Not complaining tho because this just add more challenge to everyone. Moving on to our next location, is our lunch reservation at Las Caidas Wellness Resort this is a 5 to 10-minute drive from the venue. Las Caidas is also Cavinturismo's SS2. Then, after having a sumptuous meal, we headed to the glamping site where we will be staying over the weekend. It's a nice spot because we will cross the lake get there!

We enjoyed the staycation at Kalahi Lakeshore Camp, as well as the activities being offered at these beautiful glamping site. Aside from that, we also explore nearby islands and other places in this municipality.

My kids and I were all excited to visit Camayan Beach Resort. Not a first timer on the beaches, but this one is different and it is something special. Here are the reasons why...
1. On my part, it's hard to take a leave when taking an unplanned vacation. For that, I thanked my boss for letting me use my time-off and use the 2-days leave to spend time with my family during weekdays.
2. This is my children first visit Subic. I want them to be familiar with at this location and remember what Subic can offer to nearby cities and municipalities.
3. Out of curiosity, I wanted to know where the guest/s stay overnight or more when going to Ocean Adventure. On that note, Ocean Adventure is adjacent to the resort (it's like 100-150 steps apart)
4. This is our first time together with our kids at the resort to celebrate and welcome summer season in the country.
5. There is also another reasons why we are here :).... You will find out soon.

Here are things what we love about the resort such as The Beach, The Pool, Environment, Accommodation, and the Hotel Staff and Crew.

The Beach
As you will see in these photos (keep going), it's a beautiful and sunny day. With blue skies above, the weather condition is good. It is a sign of celebrating summer at Camayan is pretty cool. This is perfect:)

With clear water, my son was able to see different kind of fish swimming within the area.

There is also a platform somewhere where guest can dive. Be sure you know how to swim as the area is already a deep part of the designated swimming vicinity.

The shores where you can play around the sands. There is also the cottages where guest can stay for a day tour.

The resort also offers other facilities such as boating. Here, the boat is on standby for guests availing the server.

Since this is an open water, they wore swim vest for their own safety. We brought a vest every time we go to a beach for swimming.

This the perfect view from our room. Good thing the room is facing the beach. It's like a beachfront accommodation.

The Pool
Camayan Beach Resort also offers a pool for hotel guest. An option to those who wanted to avail the pool instead of the beach. Not bad as the pool is so very clean.
Bad news, we're not able to use it as we preferred to go to the beach all day.

The Surrounding / Environment
Camayan Beach Resort is located at "Subic Bay where lush rainforest meets white sandy beaches and aqua blue protected reefs, we have the perfect family adventure, company outing, romantic get-a-way and sports dream waiting for you.

You will find this signage or information in the vicinity of the resort. Luckily, we're able to watch monkeys playing around the trees. We're not able to catch a picture to this species.

The Hotel / Accommodation
This is our room for an overnight stay at the resort. With cozy and relaxing, the ambiance is perfect for couples, not only that for the family as well who want some nice and quiet place after a tiring day of activities offers by the resort.

The Food

They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner available in a buffet or a la carte at The Reef Bar and Restaurant.

I'm giving them a 5-star especially to the staff and crew of the Restaurant. They are really super Pinoy dish, truly flavorful and scrumptious meals served to us. Big thanks to their Chef, Mr. Emmar Nuevo..

They also have what they called, Turtle's Nest. Here, Kids can feed fish. They will assist and guide you during fish feeding.

They are all approachable and accommodating. They're also friendly.

For commuters taking a bus ride like us, we take the Victory liner from Caloocan station. We choose via SCTEX as this is the fastest way going to Subic Bay. Bus fare is 220 pesos for adult and kids got 20% discount :)
Another way is Take Victory Liner bus going to Olongapo
At the terminal, walk towards the main road and ride a yellow jeepney going to SM Olongapo
From there, walk towards Golden Dragon Restaurant.
Take the free shuttle going to Ocean Adventure/ Camayan Beach
