Sinag Maynila Film Festival "Sine Lokal, Pang Internasyonal" Gabi ng Parangal 2017 (Sinag Maynila Film Festival Awards Night) recognizing talented filmmakers and individuals who made it as finalist, carefully selected and evaluated by the jury .  

This year's  Sinag Maynila 2017 BEST PICTURE / FILM is "TU PUG IMATUY" (The Right To Kill).  The set of the film was at the indigenous community in the hinterlands in Mindanao, a family goes up to the mountains to grieve and bury its youngest member who died from sickness. But as they make their way back to their village, they were confronted by soldiers and this forced them to turn to their traditional defense called “pangayaw” to drive off the abusive soldiers from their village. 

According to Mr. Arbi Barbarona (BEST DIRECTOR), this is his first time to join in the festival and he is very thankful to the committee members for recognizing his film.

Two brothers deal with the sudden loss of their father and an eventual separation from their overseas-Filipino-worker mother.  Some things are hard to grasp that's why they look to the sky for answers. Could it be aliens?

Best Documentary "HANGO" by Mr. Avelino Balmes Jr.
"HANGO" Follows the story of a grandfather and his grandchild who worlds a fishermen in Bacoor, Cavite.

Special Citation and Recognition to Ms. Millie Dizon, on their contribution to the success of Sinag Maynila Film Festival since 2015.
