Cooky Chua and The Manila String Machine serenades mall goers at Rockwell Powerplant Mall, Makati City on July 28, 2019

In celebration of Linggo Ng Musikang Pilipino, OPM music was showcased nationwide. In Metro Manila, Ms. Cooky Chua brings back her 90's music hit like "Paglisan" and serenades mall-goers together with The Manila String Machine that performed music from the "Manila Sound" era if I'm not mistaken. This special event is held at Rockwell Power Plant Mall last July 28, 2019.

It was my first time to attend an event or a show where Pilipino Music was highlighted. And this of course in line with the celebration of Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino.

When Cookie starts to perform on some of her songs specifically Paglisan, I feel nostalgic. And memories flashed back and took me back during my high school days.  Reminiscing the not so old but good days.

This musical event really did remind me of how the OPM was such a hit during those times. It was all about, someone's feeling of love, heartaches, hopes and dreams, and everything was carefully written and arranged in a beautiful melody. Pilipino songs have this certain vibe that you'll be wanting to hear it again and again and most of the time is very relatable.

Here are some snippets of their performance and it is also available in youtube.

The Manila String Live performance wherein they played most of the songs of Manila Sound.  Their music sends out a message of telling that is relevant to the situation of what is happening in society.

Good Music is more than just a melody. A very relatable lyrics which sends out a good message and being delivered withall their heart.  Like the songs of Manila, keeps coming back to manila.  It has a message of how Manila is good at that time.  The Golden time of Manila during that era.

The performers' string skills well gave the audience with good music and sounds.

To sum up, the OPM is still the best. or should I say Only the Best?  I would like also t extend this to you and ask your support, not only to the music, but also to the local artist who composes, recording, and performing the OPM. Support OPM, and long live OPM!!
